Privacy
Short, because we collect very little: an email address, whatever you volunteer on top, and a visitor count from our own Matomo. No ad networks, nothing shared.

Lap Factor is a product of digitario GmbH. The Swiss Data Protection Act (FADP) applies. As we also address users in the EU, we additionally apply the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What we collect
Always, when you sign up
- Your email address — nothing works without it.
- Your language setting (DE or EN), so we write to you in the right language.
- The time of your signup and confirmation, plus the IP address and browser identifier at that moment. We need this to prove consent and to detect automated mass signups.
Only if you volunteer it
- Your name and country.
- For a beta driver application: the sims you race, for iRacing the categories with iRating and licence, your experience level in other sims, approximate hours per week, your platform, your willingness to participate and your free text.
- For teams, scouts, manufacturers, press and partners: organisation, role or type of enquiry, website and your free text.
Everything except the email address is optional. You can sign up for launch news only and leave the rest blank.
Why — and on what legal basis
- Launch and beta programme information by email. Based on your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; Art. 6 FADP). Without the checkbox ticked, we store nothing.
- Beta seat selection. Your sim and rating details are used internally only, to decide who gets invited to the next beta group. No automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place — a human decides.
- Abuse prevention. IP address, timestamp and a per-hour signup limit protect the form against bots. Based on our legitimate interest in a working form (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
We do not use your details for third-party advertising, do not sell them, and do not pass them on to teams, scouts or anyone else. Signing up does not make any profile public.
Double opt-in
After submitting you receive an email with a confirmation link. Only once you click it is your signup confirmed and you are added to the list. If you don’t, the entry stays unconfirmed and is deleted after 30 days.
Where the data lives
This website is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM — Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany, on servers in Germany, under a data processing agreement. Email is sent through the same provider.
Your signup is stored in a file on that server which is not reachable over the internet, and sent as a notification to our internal address. There are no other recipients, and no transfer outside Switzerland and the EU.
Server log files
When you open the page, the host automatically records access data (file requested, time, volume transferred, browser type, referrer, IP address) for secure operation. These are deleted by the host after a short period. We do not evaluate them personally or combine them with other data.
Web analytics with Matomo
This website uses Matomo, privacy-friendly open-source analytics software. Matomo runs on our own server at stats.digitario.ch, hosted by ALL-INKL.COM in Germany. No data is passed to third parties and none is transferred to third countries.
We record the pages visited, time on page, referring page, approximate location at country level, device type, browser and screen size. IP addresses are stored anonymised (truncated before storage).
- Without your consent Matomo counts anonymously and without cookies. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in basic audience measurement (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- With your consent via the cookie banner we additionally set two analytics cookies. The legal basis is then your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time.
Raw data is deleted after 6 months; aggregated, non-personal statistics are kept indefinitely.
Cookies
This website sets analytics cookies only after your consent via the cookie banner:
- _pk_id
- Matomo — recognises returning visits. Lifetime 13 months.
- _pk_ses
- Matomo — keeps the current visit together. Lifetime 30 minutes.
- lf_consent
- Stores your banner decision so we don’t ask again. Not a cookie but local browser storage — the information never leaves your device.
If you decline, or decide nothing at all, counting stays cookieless. The language choice lives in the URL and needs no cookie either.
Objecting to analytics
You can object to analytics at any time — whether or not you accepted the banner. The switch below sets an exclusion marker for this browser; after that Matomo does not count you at all.
Alternatively, the Cookie settings link in the footer lets you change your decision at any time. We also respect your browser’s “Do Not Track” setting.
What we deliberately don’t do
- No advertising or tracking networks. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no heatmaps, no A/B tests, no retargeting.
- No external fonts. All fonts are served from our own server — no connection to Google Fonts or any CDN.
- No embedded services. No YouTube, no Vimeo, no maps, no social plugins. The video is hosted by us.
- No profiling, no selling. The analytics data only answers how many people reach the page — not who they are.
How long we keep it
- Unconfirmed signups: 30 days, then deleted.
- Confirmed signups: until you withdraw consent, at the latest twelve months after the public launch of Lap Factor.
- Proof of consent (time, IP, text version): as long as the consent applies plus three years.
Your rights
You may at any time request access to your stored data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to processing, and request a copy in a common format. You can withdraw consent at any time — an email to info@digitario.ch is enough, as is the unsubscribe link in every email. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.
If you believe we are getting something wrong, you may complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, in the EU, to the supervisory authority where you live. We’d prefer you wrote to us first — it’s usually quicker.
Changes
If the form or scope changes, we update this text. Last updated: 25 July 2026. For each signup we record which version of the consent text applied at the time.
